  • Human Factors testing is showing that the difference is mind-set. We end up with many people who become telephone talkers who are also driving a car instead of being a driver who is also talking on the phone. Other tasks mentioned; eating, singing, changing a radio station, etc.

  • I was a cop for over 20 years. My handgun was no more a curiosity for my kids than a carpenter's hammer because it was a simply tool used in my job. When the time came, they each expressed curiosity and I let them fire a smaller pistol, emphasizing to them the power behind tool.

  • "My next move is to a civilized country" Name one country more "civilized" than this. (remember to consider culture, technology, medical, standard of living, civil rights, personal freedoms, health care, did I mention standard of living?) I know of other countries. Count your blessings!!!!

  • peter17 - check your facts. The good economy is limited to some areas and the right to carry laws are not "liberal", compared to other states. The "Castle Doctrine" in Texas is the same as it is in more than half of the states in the Union.

  • If poverty caused crime, all of our parents and/or grandparents (great-grandparents for some of our readers) would have certainly been criminals and in prison as a result of the "great" depression. Instead, most Americans did "work for food"...one day at a time.
